“Not only did the program benefit the students but it benefitted us as well. We learned many different things that we can do in our movement time. We learned the different dance steps that we can do with our students to spice up our movement lessons. One thing that we truly enjoyed learning is how to teach the piano to our students—by allowing the students to participate with the pianos they have increased their fine motor skills. By the students having to listen to the conductor and play the piano at the same time has helped them with their listening skills as well. “The current curriculum at WSEM has an Arts component; however, it is nothing like the wonderful program that was presented by the Cleveland POPS Orchestra. Engaging preschool children and maintaining their attention can be a challenging task, but the staff of the POPS was ‘Very in Tune’ with the needs of the children, and the children responded quite appropriately.
